A Moment for Clarity from the Universe

Yesterday was important for clarity. Sometimes we have to truly be careful what we ask of the universe, as it tends to always deliver... and not in the ways we want. I asked for clarity... on this situation and I received it. Unfortunately, it was not the answer I wanted, and the universe has allowed me to make decisions in my personal life that have affected my overall life over the last 10 years.

It didn't come in the form I wanted. I thought it had to do with work. I thought it was about a job offer or something coming my way after I completed this reading. I was sure that my situation was regarding finances. But it was regarding my relationship and my self-worth.

See, I planned this special adventure for my partner and me, even though I have felt neglected in this relationship and was just looking to fill a void of disappointment. I have learned not to expect much, unless I am catering to them, but I really was hoping for a good day. It started ok, forced happiness, and then I made the mistake of wanting to visit a flower market, and there was no parking. I honestly don't even remember the event. I only remember saying I no longer want to visit and pick my own fresh flowers. They got upset and I had a reaction to their negative attitude about something that made me happy and they ruined,

They parked the car, and then things got out of the civil mode and into drama mode. I will never understand why someone who is enjoying an activity planned by someone else to celebrate a special day would even consider saying anything to make that person upset, but that is what happened. It started with "I guess I should just say things and not hold them in". They proceeded to mention an incident that happened earlier (last week) after returning from the Caribbean vacation I planned to celebrate their birthday, but they held on to it with disdain. They remember me saying, "Hold this phone, and don't drop it" as if they were a child. They felt embarrassed and held on to that.

But, before they started with their story, I did cut them off at the beginning, mind you, we were still mid "adventure" and had a couple of more stops. When they started with the "When we went to return your phone... I didn't appreciate..." and I cut them off and said "Let me guess? I did something wrong... this is a story about something I did wrong, a story about how I messed up and how I did them wrong... not a story about something they did to me or something that shows gratitude. No, this was a story about another time I had offended them, yet again. How sad to not be wrong about what was coming. How sad to spend so much time, effort, and energy ensuring someone feels celebrated and loved, and at the first moment, they slap you with their reality... their inability ti actually love and appreciate you back.

They didn't need to continue the story; I knew my side. We walked into the store, and they were on their phone, ignoring me as usual. They walked nowhere near me, so they looked like a separate customer from me. I spoke, they ignored. I handed them my phone to hold so I could check on my new phone. I almost dropped it because I was sure they were listening and would reach out their hand, but I looked like a crazy fool handing a phone to a stranger. I was humiliated when I noticed the employees caught what I was doing, and I moved quickly to greet them and hand them my phone. Of course, I never pulled up the QR code and info, so I had to ask the person I was with to hold my phone, yeah, I was mad. I did say "Try not to drop it". I know they felt embarrassed. I didn't care. I was humiliated.

How can you be upset by someone's reaction to your disrespect and neglect? I was hoping to be wrong about what was coming in the conversation. Of course, I was the bad one. Of course, I was wrong.... not that they were wrong for ruining the moment, the activity, the connection I was trying to create. See, here is why this is worth mentioning today, even though this is the norm... something changed. I felt like a fool. The veil came off. I saw the manipulation, the lack of empathy, the lack of appreciation, and caring. I saw myself watering a dead plant and asking why it doesn't bloom. There is no going back from here. Once you see something, you cannot unsee it. Once the universe reveals a truth, you can't live as if it isn't part of you; you can't hide the scars, the burns, the knowledge that comes with truth.

Are they capable of change? I'm sure. I am just not sure if it will happen with me.

So, why is today special?

The silent period begins.

I am not sure if this is the end of the beginning of the next chapter, but I am sure I am not the same. Effort will be matched. Energy will be matched, and I will focus on me. I am working too hard on ensuring they are ok, and I have given up so much of my life during the last 10 years.

Are we better today than 10 years ago? Yes.

Does that mean we have to spend another 10 years like this? No. I definitely need to continue to improve and grow. I want someone by my side who can enhance my life and help me grow and achieve. I am definitely not making hasty decisions, but I do feel the peace of knowing I am in control of what comes next.

When someone shows you who they are, believe them... when the Universe speaks to you, listen.

I'm including the reading below. How wrong I was in what I thought yesterday. Today, much clearer. They just cant keep trying to smooth things over without actually fixing anything. (the apology tour came after this...)
